Joseph S. Ladowski was born in Chicago in 1955. He earned his
undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago in 1976, and
his M.D. degree from its Pritzker School of Medicine in 1980. He
completed his general and thoracic surgical residencies at the Hospitals
of the University Health Center of Pittsburgh. His training emphasized
transplantation, and focused on heart and heart-lung transplantations.
He joined Indiana/Ohio Heart in August of 1988. He has been responsible
for the advancement of the transplant program at Lutheran Hospital,
where he serves as Director of Transplantation.
