William P. Deschner was born in 1953 in Brownsville, Texas,
and was raised in Seymour, Indiana. He graduated from Wabash College,
and earned his M.D. degree from the Indiana University School of
Medicine. There he was selected as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha
Honor Society. He completed his general surgical and cardiothoracic
surgical residencies at the Indiana University Medical Center in
1985. Prior to joining Indiana/Ohio Heart, Dr. Deschner practiced
for six years as a member of the department of cardiovascular and
thoracic surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
