Vincent A. Scavo, Jr. was born in 1968 in River Forest, Illinois.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in 1990
with Phi Beta Kappa honors and where he played Varsity Football.
In 1994, he completed his M.D. degree at Loyola University School
of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois with membership in the Alpha
Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his general and
cardiothoracic surgical residency at Indiana University Medical
Center in 2002 where he earned various awards including Surgical
Resident of the Year, the Dean’s Surgical Socrates Award, in the
Excellence in Teaching the Art of Surgery, Surgical Chief Resident
of the Year, and the Carl H. McCaskey Subspecialty Surgery
Research Award.
